Grow your happy 〰️
Fox Ridge flowers sits on one of the oldest homes in Litchfield County-Built in 1734, it was originally the Munger House, set among orchards and gardens where Orange Munger once made baskets.
Today, it is owned and maintained by Kate Fox Uhry. For over 26 years, the gardens have continued to grow, and a lifelong love of gardening has slowly turned into a small side business alongside her work as a wedding and family photographer.
Our seasonal cut flowers are meant to feel like your grandmother’s backyard cutting garden—from peonies in the spring, delphiniums, foxgloves, and hydrangeas through the summer, to dahlias and zinnias in the fall.
With no formal training in farming or floristry, just 26 years in the garden, I focus on growing what feels beautiful and true to the season. And I can’t wait to share them with you.
The Flowers
Kate, harvesting mixed Hydrangea, Cosmos and sunflowers
Fox Ridge Flowers are available seasonally from June through September, grown right here with care and intention. Every stem is cultivated using organic practices, with a focus on working with the land and leaving the smallest possible footprint. Nothing is rushed—everything is done by hand, from the first seedlings going into the soil to each bloom being harvested at its peak.
The soil is at the heart of it all. Rich composted materials, including chicken manure, leaf mold, and other organic matter, are thoughtfully added back into the earth to keep it healthy and full of life. It’s a slower, more hands-on way of growing, but it’s what allows the flowers to be strong, vibrant, and truly reflective of the season.
Throughout the summer, you’ll find a mix of blooms like peonies, zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, along with fresh basil and mint that change week to week. Everything is grown with cutting in mind—long stems, beautiful color, and that just-picked, garden feel. Because the flowers are harvested fresh and never shipped, they last longer and carry a natural fragrance that’s often missing from store-bought bouquets
